My Journey I’ve Lost Weight! – How To Boost Metabolism

I’ve lost 5 pounds in the first week, so this really does work!

I’ve been eating healthy and exercising every day!

Fish, turkey and chicken are the meats to eat. I have one of these for dinner every day. 4 oz. of fish has 109 calories, 21.3 grams of protein, and 0 sugar. A 4 oz. serving of turkey has 153 calories with 34g of protein, and 0 sugar, 4 oz. serving of chicken has 142 calories and 26.7g protein. So all of these are great for losing weight.

One way to boost metabolism is to get more muscle. I lift just 3 lb. weights. And believe me, it’s not that easy. But it gets easier every day. And I keep doing 30 of each of the lifts I do, even when it gets hard.

Dehydration can slow down metabolism so make sure to drink plenty of water. But not too much, you can over-do it. I drink iced tea now instead of Root Beer. I cut that out a week ago, when I started this. I make the green tea very weak and I use a little Truvia. I just want to tell you, Dr. Oz says not to use artificial sweetener. That it’s not that good for you. But I can’t drink it plain, so I just use a little, like 1 teaspoon per glass.

Eating breakfast is very important. Since you haven’t eaten for 6-10 hours, that will slow down the metabolism, so you must eat when you get up. Eggs are good for you, they have protein and Vitamin D. Oatmeal is great for breakfast too. It’s rich in omega-3 fatty acids, folate, and potassium. The flavored oatmeal is packed with sugar, so just use the regular kind and add some Unsweetened Almond Milk and fruit and nuts if you want. Greek Yogurt is good too, just add fruit. Half a grapefruit or a banana is also good.

Sometimes I have some of this stuff for lunch. For butter you should use Almond Butter, it’s really good with an apple. I use it in a lot of my recipes. Adding Flax Seeds to any meal is very helpful too. Just make sure you buy them all ground up. Blueberries have the least amount of calories (80 per cup) of all fruits. So add them to anything!

Coffee drinking has been linked to a lower risk of several diseases (such as diabetes and prostate cancer), and it may even help you live longer. Just don’t load it with sugar and other flavorings. As I said I drink tea. Research suggests that drinking five cups a day can increase your body’s metabolism and help you lose more weight around the middle. I drink about half of mine, hot, the rest iced.

Cantaloupe is another good fruit for breakfast or lunch. It has a lot of Vitamin A and C. And it keeps the body hydrated and feeling full. And of course we all love smoothies! I made a chocolate, blueberry, Almond one and I just love it! It has all healthy ingredients. You can find that recipe here.

    Sometimes It is so tough to maintain the schedule. Occasionally I can’t have my breakfast for my work tight schedule.But to boost my metabolism I always try to eat healthy breakfast and obviously try to eat an egg every morning.

  3. I love your honesty and I admire you greatly. Putting something in writing is like a tablet of stone to me….scares me to death. But you did it and I intend to pray for you daily on your journey. And just for the record, you are beautiful! Your picture is gorgeous! I know you want to be comfortable with yourself so only you can determine what your weight should be so I support you in that. YOU CAN DO IT! I will be back.

  4. I found this very interesting as I just became diabetic and am looking for new ideas to incorporate. I can’t go cold turkey. I didn’t know the cantaloupe was so healthy, I mean I know all fruit is good but it is extra healthy. I’ll have to figure out where to get the flax seed as I hear so much about it.
