Healthy Banana Berries Muffins

As you probably know, I’m on a weight loss journey. I’ve lost 21 lbs. so far. It’s going slow because I don’t exercise every day. So sometimes I’m surprised that I’ve lost more. But I eat a lot healthier now. Up at the top you can read about it and see more recipes, it’s under “weight loss journey”. Well, duh I’m sure you can see that. (haha)

Healthy Banana Berries Muffins

The photo above has most of the main ingredients, but I left some out. Oh well, you can just read the recipe. These can be made with any berries, and if you want some sweetness just add 1/4 cup of  Now Foods Organic Light Agave Nectar, 23.28 Ounce.

  4. Spoon mixture in pan
  5. Sprinkle With Cinnamon
  6. Bake for 20-25 mins
  7. Yep that's it!
  8. ENJOY!

Next time I think I’ll add the Agave and also some Flex Seeds. The more healthy ingredients I can get in what I cook, the better I like it. Did you know cinnamon is really healthy?

It is great for boosting metabolism and it’s loaded with antioxidants. It also has anti-inflammatory properties! It reduces levels of total cholesterol and helps take care of our hearts. By helping insulin do its job, cinnamon can lower blood sugar levels, it’s good for people who have type 2 diabetes. It also helps people with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.  And it appears to be toxic to cancer cells! (According to mice tests) The antimicrobial effects of cinnamon may also help prevent tooth decay and reduce bad breath, plus other infections. A laboratory study looking at HIV infected cells found that cinnamon was the most effective treatment of all 69 medicinal plants studied. (Human tests are needed to confirm this one.)

The Cassia variety of cinnamon contains significant amounts of a compound called coumarin, which is believed to be harmful in large doses. Ceylon (“true” cinnamon) is much better in this regard. Unfortunately, most cinnamon found in supermarkets is the cheaper Cassia variety. You can get the organic, healthy kind on Amazon – Simply Organic Cinnamon Ground Certified Organic, 2.45-Ounce Container

I hope you enjoy these muffins. They’re just so easy and quick to make. And then so healthy for us to eat. If you have any weight loss tips, let me know! I’d love to hear from you! Would you mind sharing this?  Thank you!
